Sorry, but when i logged in, i saw my previous thread locked. Anyway, the reason why i wanted to open part ii is because i didn't finish making my point about pc gamers are getting screwed. Yes, alot of PC games are getting pirated, there is no denying that; - Assassin's Creed - GTA 5 - Call of Duty to name a few, and I understand that companies look at the bottom line and they see the poor pc sales. But it's unfair to blame the poor sales completely on downloading illegally through torrents. This lists here shows certain pc games sell very well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_PC_video_games If you look at crysis 1 and crysis 2, crysis 1 sold very well on a pc. It proves if pc gamers think the game is good, they'll buy it. But crysis 2 screwed the pc community with their lack of customization, basically a console port and pc gamers wern't having that. Now fast forward to 2015, the witcher 3 sold very well on pc, close 600,000 in first week. And witcher 3 has no DRM, i've bought witcher 3 on steam and runs as usually as other games. On steam you have the option to play the game offline. |

They should just makdke trials/demo's for everything I think, why not? Getting to play an hour of a game is more than enough to see if it's broken or not. And then if some games don't have a trial you can hold back because the developers might just be trying to bulls*** people and don't want them to know it's broken. I really don't get why demo's/trials are so rare these days I remember back in PSX/PS2 days virtually every game would have one. Used to get discs of them in magazines, heck I never used to be able to afford the actual game so would just play demo's over and over... Seems really dumb that they can't just release a snippet of a game for people to test when it happened all the time years ago. |

Call of Duty went down hill on PC after World at War, they started to treat PC gamers the same as console gamers, locking down mods and introducing the lobby system of hosting to PCs, instead of dedicated servers. Black Ops made some changes to welcome PC gamers and it was received well, however it was far from what it used to be, the older CoDs on PC had custom maps, game modes and massive servers (30+ players). Black Ops 2 is the most popular of the multiplayer versions on Steam at the moment and that is what, almost 3 years old? PC gamers don't want the limitations of consoles, PCs have more freedom to them than a console, they aren't a locked down system and files can be edited easier. Piracy would never stop, just as shoplifting will never stop, some companies even hide little jokes in their games when it is pirated, making it harder to play (or impossible), but they've been doing that since the old days of things like the Commodore 64 I believe. What PC gamers don't want is like for like ports from consoles because they are often poorly optimised, locked FPS and limited in features. If a company puts time and effort into a PC port and game, they get rewarded for it, people will sing its praise and sales go up. If you make a good game, people will notice. |

It's not a demo unless it's free. Sure, call it free when you get your money back, but you still need to spend to play it in the first place. |

Maybe it's a response to all the vile PC gamers out there? "URGH PC MASTER RACE U PLEB HA HA HA IDIOT CONSOLE IS FOR PEASANTS YOUR GAMES SUCK PC IS THE ONLY REAL GAMING PLATFORM" But yeah it will probably change next gen when "consoles" don't really exist. This generation probably won't last 8 years if PC gaming keeps getting more popular so they probably will release customizable 'consoles' by like 2017-2018 or so. If anything this might good for the future of gaming, filter out all the s***ty companies like Ubisoft by making them lose a ton of money, stay strong

My friend called this a few years ago. Now everybody is jumping aboard the "customizable consoles" train, which in reality is just their answer to the PC. |

Uh, well PC is the superior gaming platform, unless you like party games, you can shove a controller, a steering wheel, a joystick, a flight stick and so forth into a PC to play games how you want to play them. The hardware is far superior and you can build a PC more powerful than a console with around the same budget, you just need to do research. If you like consoles, that is fine, but you have to accept that they aren't superior and fyi, the whole PC Master Race and Filthy Console Peasant is more humorous than serious, there are a fair number of console gamers who are a bit, stupid, though. How would you define a customisable console? One you can replace the hardware for? That would defeat the purpose and unless you had control of the drivers and everything, you could only use approved hardware, again limiting consoles in comparison. Like consoles, fine, but they don't really beat PC in many areas, perhaps ease of use as they are mainly plug and play. |

All games have a demo if you have PlayStation Plus =\. It's a 60 minute demo where it's the full game. Demos are also common in gaming stores and conventions. |

If you have Playstation Plus, which isn't free. If Sony forces Playstation Plus on you to download demos, they are doing it wrong. |

Superior hardware =/= superior experience If it's your opinion PC gaming is better then that's fine but it's just not fact not everyone particularly cares what FPS and graphics a rig can produce. The experience of a game isn't determined by those. Shadow of the Colossus offers a far better experience to me than most if not all games and it's a PS2 title. Doesn't matter how s*** the graphics are when you scale a cliff face and there's a gorgeous sunset that experience is beautiful, you absolutely do not have to zoom right in and look at every pixel of it to enjoy it. As far as I'm concerned that's quite shallow. This is why both sides can never get along... Anyway I say "console PC" because they will be standard PC's but with Xbox/Sony branding, like how you get Alienware now even though there isn't anything particularly different about them. Though if the "console" market olays its cards right it could end up being superior. Like if you have a "console PC" you could get the best PC parts for cheaper via subscription services and such. That would be a smart move for sure. |

Hey, this isn't you. You are an advocate for better graphics, you've proven that several times with your tirades against Nintendo's games and policy. |

Yes, yes it does... Otherwise, why is there so much competition with cars? They want the superior experience and cars that offer that have better components, or, hardware. Your argument is nonsense, of course better hardware makes for a better experience. |

If superior hardware =/= superior experience, why did you purchase the next gen consoles instead of sticking with the older ones? gotchaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa |
